A quick summary of Kandi for an explanation- Kandi is anything used with pony beads to create things like bracelets, keychains, et cetera! The most popular form of this is bracelets, that sometimes Kandi creators trade with others at public meets like concerts, parks, and more! While Kandi is mainly popular among those of the scene, kidcore and other similar aesthetics, others also make Kandi whether or not they associate with said aesthetics or groups! For example, Swifties (fans of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift) make "friendship bracelets" to trade at Taylor's concerts or tours and are (of course) made of pony beads! Kandi is for all and is not to be gatekept or cause hatred over, and many pony-bead users do not associate themselves with the term "Kandi creators" or "Kandi users," and that's totally okay! ^^
Upon initially joining this school, we were already pretty interested in the art of Kandi and Keagan even taught Kinsey some new things, like lizards and stars, before the shop's creation. Before arriving, we joked about starting a Kandi club or group in the school, and as we started actually attending it, we started to genuinely consider selling them or making them for others. Eventually, we settled on selling them and got to work on forming everything- from deciding times to sell & create them to Keagan building a website and Kinsey aiding in the creation of it! We had some other names planned, but most were too long or just didn't fit. Keagan originally planned to name the business "Kandi Kreations" where, instead of the Z in "Kreationz," she used the S, until Kinsey instinctively wrote "Kandi Kreationz" for a business-requirement list we were working on and eventually it stuck!
We're really happy to be able to start making Kandi and selling it and we're so glad to share our skills with the school! THANK YOU!!! ^^
